Nine Killed in Pennsylvania Family Home Shooting Including 8 Relatives and Suspect
Erie police: Suspect died by self-inflicted gunshot before officers breached residence; victims included pregnant woman, two children aged 22 months to 44.

ERIE, Pa. — A mass shooting at a family home on Friday night left nine dead, including eight relatives and the suspected shooter, who police say died by self-inflicted gunshot before officers could breach the residence, officials said.
Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah described the scene as "the worst I have ever experienced," with victims ranging in age from 22 months to 44 years old. Among those killed were two children and a woman who was eight months pregnant, the chief said at a Saturday morning news conference.
Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert of two gunshots at approximately 5 p.m. Friday, finding two women outside the home who had been shot. When officers moved inside, they discovered additional victims on the second floor before locating the suspect, a 45-year-old man who was not publicly identified, deceased from a self-inflicted wound.
Investigators determined all victims inside the home lived there, while the two women found outside did not. A .40 caliber handgun registered to the suspect was recovered from his person, Lorah said. The chief added that the investigation into what precipitated the shooting is ongoing, including examining what the two women who arrived before police knew about the incident.
