South Carolina Highway Patrol says the tour bus carrying rock band Buckcherry was involved in the third of three separate collisions on a South Carolina highway, a sequence that left one man dead.

According to a Highway Patrol spokesperson, the first incident was a single-car crash involving a male driver. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused that initial wreck.

After that crash, the man got out of his vehicle and was struck by another motorist moments later, police said. He was killed in the collision. The driver who struck him was not arrested, and the circumstances remain under investigation.

Moments later, a third crash occurred involving Buckcherry's tour bus. Authorities said the bus was part of a five-vehicle collision in which some people suffered minor injuries, but no one was taken to a hospital.

The cause of the third collision is also under investigation, according to the Highway Patrol.

The band said Friday that its members and touring crew were safe and unharmed. Buckcherry is currently on tour and has continued its scheduled performances following the crash.
